Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager, Julio Urias Avoid Arbitration
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Cody Bellinger ($16.1 million), shortstop Corey Seager ($13.75 million) and left-handed pitcher Julio Urias ($3.6 million) all reached one-year deals to avoid salary arbitration on Friday. Bellinger was the 2019 National League MVP and 2017 NL Rookie of the Year but hit a career-low .239 with 12 home runs and 30 RBI in the shortened 2020 season after hitting .305 with 47 homers and 115 RBI in 2019, which were all career-highs. Seager won the MVP in the NL Championship Series and World Series, hitting .400 with two homers and five RBI in the World Series over the Rays. He hit .307 with 15 homers and 41 RBI in the regular season. Urias finally finished last season as a member of the starting rotation and went 3-0 with a 3.27 ERA in 11 games (10 starts).
