Clayton Kershaw Unlikely To Pitch On Opening Day
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that it's "unlikely" that starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) will be the team's Opening Day starter. However, the left-hander threw a second bullpen session on Thursday (only fastballs) and has another one set for Monday, when he will incorporate breaking pitches into the mix. Kershaw is unlikely to pitch in a spring game until the end of next week. Roberts said that Kershaw could start the first time through the rotation even if he doesn't start the opener. The future Hall of Famer has been battling injuries the last two seasons and also saw a noticeable drop in velocity in 2018. He's still a fantasy ace in the early rounds, but he comes with a lot more risk.
