Clayton Kershaw, Hyun-Jin Ryu To Open Up NLDS
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitchers Clayton Kershaw and Hyun-Jin Ryu will start Games 1 and 2 of the National League Division Series against the Braves, but the Dodgers haven't finalized the order. It's likely that Kershaw will be the Game 1 starter as the ace looks to fix his ugly playoff history. While Kershaw's strikeout rate was down this year (8.6 K/9), he was effective overall with a 9-5 record, 2.73 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over 26 starts. He finished the season on a sour note by allowing five earned runs on eight hits in five innings against the Giants over the weekend. Ryu was a solid 7-3 with a miniscule 1.97 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 89 strikeouts in 82 1/3 innings in his 15 starts this year.
