Clayton Kershaw Expected To Work Out Extension With Dodgers
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who can opt out of his 2019 season, is expected to work out a short extension with the Dodgers for one or two years beyond the two years and $70 million he's owed. Kershaw must decide if he wants to opt out on Wednesday. The future Hall of Fame left-hander missed a little time with injury again this year and his strikeouts were down (8.6 K/9), but otherwise he remained elite with a 2.73 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and nine wins over 26 starts. Remaining in a pitcher-friendly park with the only team he's known seems to be the best solution for him and the best outcome for his fantasy value moving forward.
