Clayton Kershaw Expected To Start On Opening Day
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts basically said that starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw will be the team's Opening Day starter. It's not a surprise at all, even though the perennial Cy Young candidate had a down year by his standards in 2018 and has dealt with injuries the last couple of seasons. The left-hander will be turning 31 next month and went 9-5 with a 2.73 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 155 strikeouts in 161 1/3 innings last year. Kershaw is still a fantasy ace, but his K/9 dropped under 10.0 for the first time since 2013 and he's more of an injury risk than ever before. He'll face the Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium on March 28 for the season opener.
