Christian Yelich Wins NL MVP
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich was named the 2018 National League Most Valuable Player on Thursday. He led the team to an NL-best 96 wins and a trip to the playoffs for the first time since 2011 while beating out Cubs second baseman Javier Baez and Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado. Yelich hit .367 with a .444 on-base percentage since July 8 in his first year in Milwaukee and also had 25 home runs, 22 doubles and a 1.171 OPS in that span. His .770 slugging percentage after the All-Star break was the best in baseball in 14 years. Needless to say, Yelich will be a highly coveted fantasy commodity in 2019 that can contribute in all categories.
