Christian Yelich Named NL Player Of The Week
6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder and 2018 National League MVP Christian Yelich was named the NL Player of the Week for the first week of the 2019 season after he homered in each of the team's first four games, tying the major league record to open the season. He also hit a walkoff double to give his team a 5-4 win over the Cardinals on Sunday. The 27-year-old is tied for the MLB lead in home runs (four), tied for the NL lead in RBI (eight), leads the NL in walks (six) and leads the majors in slugging (1.583) and OPS (2.250). Yelich is pretty darn good and while it might not last, he's a rising star in the game and is a must-start each and every day.
