Chris Thompson, Trent Williams Ruled Out
6 years agoWashington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said that running back Chris Thompson (ribs) and left tackle Trent Williams (thumb, shoulder) have been ruled out for Week 9 against the Falcons. Williams had surgery to fix his dislocated thumb. Thompson continues to struggle with injuries, and he's been a low-end RB3/flex in PPR leagues when he does play. This remains Adrian Peterson's backfield, and he should once again be a strong RB2 this Sunday as long as the team doesn't fall too far behind. Expect to see Kapri Bibbs handle the passing work. He's in play as an RB3/flex in deeper PPR formats. It's unclear how long Williams will be out, but it's not a good sign for quarterback Alex Smith's pass protection.
