Chris Stratton An Option In Piggyback Role
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates pitcher Chris Stratton, along with Steven Brault and Chad Kuhl, is a candidate to function as a piggyback starter in the shortened 2020 season. Stratton leaned on a high-spin fastball and had a 3.66 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 46 2/3 relief innings for the Bucs over 28 relief outings last season. He made five starts with the Giants in 2019 and also made starts for the Giants in 2017 and 2018, so he would make sense for the role this season. The 29-year-old right-hander has fared better in relief than as a starter in the big leagues, so this could be a role that suits him best, but he's still not much of a fantasy option even if he vultures some wins.
