Chiefs Hire Steve Spagnuolo To Run Defense
6 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs hired former New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo as their new defensive coordinator on Thursday, according to sources. Spagnuolo was also the Rams head coach for a short period of time and worked as an Eagles assistant when Andy Reid was in Philadelphia. Spags has overseen some pretty good defenses, including the units that topped Tom Brady in the Super Bowl twice. He'll be tasked with improving a KC unit (mostly the secondary) that was their Achilles heel in 2018. Aside from linebacker Dee Ford and defensive end Chris Jones, the Chiefs could benefit from better playmakers all around on that side of the ball.
