Charlie Morton Expected To Throw Bullpen Soon
6 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Charlie Morton (shoulder) has played catch the last two days and is expected to throw a bullpen session either Tuesday or Wednesday. Manager A.J. Hinch said that the team is still hoping that Morton can return from the disabled list and start on Saturday against the Red Sox. Morton's injury was never believed to be too serious, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him return this weekend. The right-hander has been great, going 13-3 with a 3.14 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 185 strikeouts in 152 innings over 26 starts. Even in a tough matchup against Boston, Morton is a must-start if he makes it back for that one.
