Chargers Offense To Feature More Than Two Running Backs
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Shane Steichen said that the offense will feature more than just two running backs in 2020, unlike in past seasons. That means that it'll be Austin Ekeler, Justin Jackson and rookie Joshua Kelley splitting up the workload with Melvin Gordon III now playing in Denver. With quarterback Philip Rivers gone, the Bolts are expected to give Tyrod Taylor the reigns under center until rookie Justin Herbert is ready. The Bills led the league in rushing with Taylor as their QB when head coach Anthony Lynn was the offensive coordinator, so expect LA to run the ball often in 2020. While Jackson and Kelley will see touches, this should still mostly be the Ekeler show. He proved in 2019 that he can be a high-ceiling RB1 for fantasy owners. Jackson will be the preferred handcuff for Ekeler owners.
