Chad Kuhl Suffers Setback
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chad Kuhl (forearm, elbow) had to be shut down when he came to the flat-ground portion of his throwing program on Tuesday, and head trainer Todd Tomczyk confirmed that Kuhl had more forearm/elbow tightness. He will go for another opinion, but his chances of returning this year are most likely over. The right-hander will finish with a 5-5 record, 4.55 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and career-high 8.6 K/9 across only 16 starts. Kuhl last made a start in the majors in late June.
