Center Field Is Nick Senzel's To Lose
6 years agoCincinnati Reds general manager Dick Williams said center field is prospect Nick Senzel's "job to lose" this year. "He will be given every opportunity to focus on center field, play center field, learn center field, improve in center field to see where he stacks up against our other options," Williams said. The 23-year-old's 2018 season in the minors was derailed by injuries, as he played in just 44 games for Triple-A Louisville, hitting .310/.378/.509 with six homers, 25 RBI and eight steals. He's never played the outfield in his career, but he's also eligible at third and second base and has plenty of upside for his power and speed. He's MLB's No. 6 prospect entering the year and is certainly worth a late-round stab in deep mixed leagues, as he should be playing for the Reds at some point this season.
