Carter Jensen Promoted To Double-A
4 months agoThe Kansas City Royals promoted catching prospect Carter Jensen to Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Wednesday after he hit .271/.386/.436 with an .821 OPS, 10 home runs, 39 RBI, 16 stolen bases and 47 runs scored in 84 games for High-A Quad Cities this year. The 21-year-old is considered the team's No. 9 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and has combined his raw power and impressive plate discipline to move to the upper levels of the minors for the second half of this season. The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder hits from the left side, and although his skills defensively at the catching position leave a lot to be desired, the Royals will surely find a place for him if he continues to hit at the upper levels. If Jensen continues to impress at Double-A this year and keeps improving into next year, he could be a candidate to make his MLB debut late in the 2025 campaign.
