Carlos Santana Homers, Drives In Three On Monday
4 years agoKansas City Royals first baseman Carlos Santana helped lead a strong offensive showing for his new team on Monday against the Oakland Athletics. Santana went 2-for-2 in the game and hit his first spring training home run, a two-run shot in the third inning off of Athletics starter Parker Dunshee. Santana also singled in a run in the first inning. Santana hit third in the lineup in this game and he figures to be in a similar spot once the regular season comes around. He had a rough year last year, slashing .199/.349/.350 with the Cleveland Indians. He still showed great plate discipline last year, leading the American League with 47 walks while only striking out 43 times. He's a solid bounce-back candidate in his first year with the Royals.
