Carlos Rodon An Early Favorite For Opening Day
6 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon is fully healthy and is the early favorite to start on Opening Day in 2019. "You can tell that the psychological burden of being hurt or recovering is gone. He's ready to take that next step in his career now. Knock on wood he looks good. He's in a really good spot to take off on some of the success he's been able to piece together while healthy the last couple of years," general manager Rick Hahn said. The 26-year-old southpaw has a world of talent and plenty of strikeout upside, but injuries have held him back so far in his four years. He'll need to limit the walks (4.1 BB/9 last year and 3.8 in his career) to take the next step, but he's worth taking a chance on late in deep mixed drafts.
