6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez (shoulder) will return to the Cardinals this weekend after his stint with Double-A Springfield this week. Martinez made an appearance in the minors on Wednesday. "I feel 100% right now," Martinez said. "I'm grateful to go back up." The right-hander will return to a bullpen role, which he's fine with, but Martinez would also like to have a spot in the rotation at some point after the All-Star break. He allowed one earned run while walking four and striking out six in 6 2/3 innings of relief at three minor league levels during his rehab. Martinez has strikeout upside when he's healthy, but he won't have much fantasy appeal in a relief role.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
