6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Carlos Martinez (shoulder) had a six-pitch, three-up-and-three-down outing for Single-A Peoria on Sunday, and his next appearance will come on Wednesday for Triple-A Memphis. He's likely to show he can pitch on back-to-back days before he's activated from the injured list, and he could make his season debut in relief sometime next week. Martinez was on the disabled list twice last season with shoulder injuries and is off to a late start this year as well. He won't have much fantasy value pitching in relief without save opportunities, but it's still not out of the question that he will return to the starting rotation at some point later in the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
