Carlos Correa, Aledmys Diaz Not Expected Back Before Break
5 years agoHouston Astros manager A.J. Hinch said he doesn't think either shortstop Carlos Correa (rib) or infielder Aledmys Diaz (hamstring) will "factor into the major league team" before the All-Star break. At least the team got second baseman Jose Altuve back from the injured list on Wednesday. Alex Bregman has mainly been holding down the fort at the 6 with Yuli Gurriel at third base, but Jack Mayfield is another option until both Correa and Diaz return. Correa is hitting a nice .295/.360/.547 with 11 home runs, 26 runs, 35 RBI and a steal on the year, but injuries continue to prevent him from realizing his potential as a top-five fantasy shortstop. Diaz has been a nice utility player for Houston this year, but he won't see much regular playing time as long as both Correa and Altuve are healthy up the middle.
