Carl Edwards Jr. Says He'll Be Ready For Thursday
6 years agoChicago Cubs relief pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. (forearm) said he will be 100 percent ready to pitch if the team advances to the Divisional Series against the Brewers on Thursday. Edwards is not on the roster for the wild-card game against the Rockies on Tuesday. He saw his velocity drop and his control abandon him late in the year because of the injury, but it doesn't look to be too serious. Edwards was a key late-inning cog for the Cubs this year, posting a 2.60 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 11.6 K/9 over 58 appearances (52 innings).
