Caris LeVert Continues To Carry Indiana's Offense
3 years agoIndiana Pacers shooting guard Caris LeVert scored a team-high 27 points and delivered nine assists in Sunday's loss to Chicago, hitting 9-for-22 from the field and 3-for-10 from downtown with a 6-for-7 effort at the line. His work included four rebounds, one steal and one block with one turnover in 39 minutes. With Malcolm Brogdon (Achilles) out, LeVert has taken over most of the playmaking duties and he's been logging some very heavy minutes. The 27-year-old has been pretty injury-prone in his career, so hopefully the Pacers are monitoring his situation and won't overplay him. There are a few free nights now for LeVert and the Pacers ahead of Wednesday's matchup against the Hornets. LeVert had a miserable time against Charlotte earlier in the season, but it's a meeting against the worst defensive team in the league, so there are actually no reasons why he shouldn't be able to keep up his recent improved form.
