Cardinals Releasing Zach Ertz
12 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals are releasing tight end Zach Ertz (quadriceps), according to a source. Ertz asked for his released and was granted it in order to have a chance to play for a contender the rest of the year. The 33-year-old veteran tight end hasn't played since getting injured in Week 7 and remains on Injured Reserve. Not only is this good news for ascending Cardinals tight end Trey McBride, but it's also good news for any fantasy managers stashing Ertz in deeper leagues with hopes that he might be able to produce meaningful numbers when he returns from IR. It will all depend on where Ertz lands and how quickly he can get up to speed with a new playbook late in the season.
