Cardinals Fire Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury
2 years agoThe Arizona Cardinals fired head coach Kliff Kingsbury on Monday after the team went 4-13 this year, according to sources. Just 10 months ago, Kingsbury signed a contract extension that was scheduled to take him through the 2027 season. The Cardinals have never had a head coach that has lasted longer than six years while the team has existed for over 100 years. With Kingsbury now gone, defensive coordinator Vance Joseph appears to be the leading candidate to take over the job, although Arizona will surely bring in external candidates to interview for the position. Behind the scenes, owner Michael Bidwell and Kingsbury reportedly never had a very good relationship, and Kingsbury's relationship with quarterback Kyler Murray had also soured.
