Cardinals Open To New Deals For DeAndre Hopkins, Kenyan Drake
5 years agoArizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim is interested in talking long-term extensions with both wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and running back Kenyan Drake. Drake signed his one-year transition tag offer for $8.4 million, but he can still work out a long-term extension by July 15. Hopkins is scheduled to make $12.5 million in 2020, $13.5 million in 2021 and $13.915 million in 2022 under his current deal. The team has talked new contracts with both players, but nothing is imminent. Hopkins is one of the best receivers in the NFL, and his fantasy stock might've actually improved moving to Arizona in head coach Kliff Kingsbury's offense. Drake was exceptional in the second half after being acquired by the Cardinals in a trade and has clear RB1 upside as the backfield leader with David Johnson now in Houston.
