6 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals activated pitcher Carlos Martinez (shoulder) from the injured list on Friday and designated reliever Luke Gregerson for assignment in a corresponding move. Reliever Ryan Helsley was also recalled from Triple-A Memphis and reliever Dominic Leone was sent down. Martinez, a two-time All-Star had missed the first 44 games of the year with a strained right shoulder. Because he hasn't been able to stay healthy the last two years, he'll return to the bullpen. The 27-year-old won't have much fantasy appeal in relief, but he still could return to the rotation at some point in 2019 if he proves worthy. Gregerson, 35, allowed five runs and 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings in six relief outings after coming off the injured list on May 4.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
