Cardinals Acquire Matt Svanson From Blue Jays
1 year agoThe St. Louis Cardinals have acquired relief pitching prospect Matt Svanson from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for shortstop Paul DeJong and cash considerations, according to MLB.com's Jon Morosi. The 24-year-old has spent most of this season at High-A, amassing a phenomenal 1.11 ERA, 2.48 FIP, 10.86 K/9, and 58.03 GB%. He also has not allowed a single home run though 32.1 innings of work. As it currently stands, Svanson has the makings of an impactful reliever at the major league level within a few years.
