6 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Cameron Meredith is inactive for Week 1 against the Buccaneers. Meredith was slow to recover from his knee injury that kept him out for all of 2017 in training camp and the preseason. He can easily work his way back up the depth chart with more repetitions and good health, but for now he doesn't have a role in this offense. Austin Carr will work the slot with Ted Ginn likely the No. 2 behind Michael Thomas. Don't rule out rookie Tre'Quan Smith, though, as he's impressed the coaching staff this summer.
