Cameron Brate Has Surgery On Hip
6 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate (hip) underwent arthroscopic surgery last week to fix a torn labrum in his hip that he dealt with for the majority of the 2018 season, according to a source. The procedure included the removal of bone fragments, and Brate is now on crutches. The source said his recovery time would be a "few months." The Bucs are expected to ease Brate into organized team activities this spring, but he should be ready for next season. He caught 30 passes for 289 yards and six touchdowns on the season. Brate is a fine red-zone weapon for the Bucs, but the emergence of O.J. Howard will make him merely a touchdown-dependent TE2 for next season.
