5 years agoThe Carolina Panthers officially ruled out quarterback Cam Newton (foot) for Week 3 against the Cardinals. Kyle Allen will get the start on Sunday in Arizona. It's not a guarantee that Newton will be able to return in Week 4 either, so keep tabs on his recovery. Allen has a good matchup in a Patrick Peterson-less Cardinals secondary this weekend, but he's still nothing more than a desperation low-end QB2 play. Newton hasn't looked good at all in two games, but his absence still means you need to downgrade receivers D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel with Allen in there.
