Caleb Smith To Start Second Game Of Season
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Caleb Smith will start the second game of the regular season on the road against the Phillies. Smith had a career-high 168 strikeouts in 153 innings over 28 starts last year for the Fish, but he also struggled in the second half of the season to finish with a 4.52 ERA and 1.23 WHIP while allowing a career-high 33 home runs. The southpaw's career mark of 9.9 strikeouts per nine innings gives fantasy owners hope that he can rebound if he can keep the ball in the ballpark. But you definitely won't be chasing wins with the 28-year-old. Smith is coming off the board, on average, as the 212th overall fantasy selection in deep mixed formats.
