C.J. Cron To Make $4.8 Million In 2019
6 years agoThe Minnesota Twins avoided salary arbitration with first baseman C.J. Cron on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $4.8 million deal. Cron was claimed off waivers from the Rays after he hit a career-high 30 home runs in 501 at-bats in 2018. The big first baseman/designated hitter type doesn't do a whole lot else, though. Expected to be the team's primary first baseman next year, Cron will have a place in deep mixed and AL-only leagues because of his power stroke alone, but he'll be hard-pressed to reach 30 homers again in his new pitcher-friendly environment.
