C.J. Anderson Reaches Agreement With Lions
6 years agoThe Detroit Lions reached an agreement on an undisclosed one-year deal with free-agent running back C.J. Anderson on Monday, according to a source. Anderson only had 24 carries in nine games with the Panthers in 2018 before being released. He was picked up late in the year by the Rams to help fill in for the injured Todd Gurley down the stretch and had 43 attempts for 299 yards (7.0 yards per carry) and two touchdowns in two regular season games for LA. In Detroit, he'll help spell Kerryon Johnson heading into his second year, but Theo Riddick will continue to have a role in the passing game as well. Don't let Anderson's strong finish to last year fool you, as he should be more of an RB3/flex with his new squad.
