Buster Posey Unrestricted In Camp Wednesday
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, who had right hip surgery last year, caught bullpen sessions, put in some work in the batting cage and took batting practice on the field without issue on Wednesday in camp. "Really was pretty much a normal day," manager Bruce Bochy said. "Once we get a little closer to games and maybe the workload is picking up with these guys, we will monitor him somewhat. He feels great right now." The Giants might hold Posey back a bit in spring training action, but he should be fine for Opening Day. Posey played in only 105 games last year and is an injury concern heading into his age-32 season. It's fair to question whether his power will return after serious hip surgery. While he's still useful in mixed leagues, Posey is no longer an elite fantasy option at his position.
