Buffalo Trades For Malcolm Subban
3 years agoThe Buffalo Sabres acquired goaltender Malcolm Subban from the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday for future considerations. Dustin Tokarski was placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol on Thursday and the team already has a long-term absentee in Craig Anderson (upper body), so the Sabres badly needed to add a new goalie. Subban boasts a 36-31-8 career record in the NHL, and he's gone 2-2-1 in the AHL this season with a 3.38 goals-against average and a .893. These are some underwhelming numbers, but Aaron Dell, who has been the No. 2 choice behind Tokarski lately, has struggled mightily and another option was needed. The 32-year-old has gone 0-4-0 with a 4.56 goals-against average and a .862 save percentage. He makes another start on Thursday against Florida, which might be his last for a while.
