Bucs, Patriots Discussing Trade Involving Rob Gronkowski
5 years agoRetired New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has made it clear that he's leaving the door open for a return to football. He has informed the Patriots, who still hold his rights, that he would like to come back and play again, but only for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Tom Brady. Multiple sources say this is something that has been discussed for the last 24 hours, and Gronkowski could make an announcement soon. A trade would have to be worked out for Gronk to be shipped to Tampa, and it could involve O.J. Howard being sent to New England. This would be a wild development and would hurt Cameron Brate's fantasy value the most. Gronk didn't play at all in 2019 and has plenty of injury concerns, but he'd immediately be on the TE1 radar if he landed back with Brady. He has been putting on weight in anticipation of a return, so it sounds like he's serious about playing in 2020. Stay tuned.
