1 year agoFormer New York Mets manager Buck Showalter is a candidate for the Los Angeles Angels managerial opening, according to sources. General manager Perry Minasian and Showalter have a longstanding connection from their days with the Texas Rangers, so Showalter is a legitimate candidate for the position this offseason. Showalter and the Mets went their separate ways after a disappointing 2023 season, while the Angels quickly fired Phil Nevin after missing the postseason yet again. The Halos are looking to hire their fourth manager in six years after going 73-89 this year.
