Buccaneers To Bring Back Jameis Winston In 2020
5 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to bring back quarterback Jameis Winston for the 2020 season, according to sources. He's slated to get tagged in some form, but the exact type is unknown. The former No. 1 overall pick has led the Buccaneers to four straight wins and has gone over 400 yards passing in each of the last two games. Winston leads the league in passing yards entering Week 16, but he also leads the NFL in interceptions, but he's shown enough improvement under head coach Bruce Arians this year. The franchise tag for QBs is projected to be around $27 million, while the transition tag would be $25 million. Winston has been an obvious QB1 this year, but he's more of a risk in the final two weeks of the regular season with receivers Mike Evans (hamstring), Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Scott Miller (hamstring) all out.
