Buccaneers Get Tristan Wirfs At No. 13 In First Round
5 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded up with the San Francisco 49ers and selected Iowa offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday. The 49ers move back one slot to No. 14 overall with the swap. Wirfs is also a very fast offensive lineman for his size, and he's expected to play right tackle for the Buccaneers in helping run block and keep quarterback Tom Brady's jersey clean in his first year in Tampa. The offensive lineman is explosive and strong at over 320 pounds. Wirfs is an impressive right tackle and also held his own at left tackle. When he plays with proper leverage, he can manhandle opposing defensive lineman. It makes sense that the Bucs would give Brady more help right away.
