Bryce Harper Would Like To Stay In D.C.
6 years agoWashington Nationals impending free-agent outfielder Bryce Harper said he would "absolutely love to be" in Washington for the long term. Harper has led the team to four playoff appearances since he was taken first overall in the 2010 draft. "When I talk about D.C., I get giddy. I get happy. Because it's me. It's what I know," Harper said. "I don't know anything else. I don't know what it feels like to play for the Dodgers. I don't know what it feels like to play for the Yankees. I don't know what it feels like to play for anybody that you look at. I don't know!" He will turn 26 years old next month but is already a six-time All-Star, won the Rookie of the Year in 2012 and the National League MVP in 2015. Harper currently has a slash line of .245/.390/.495 with 34 home runs, 100 RBI, 99 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. He picked it up in the second half after a brutal start to the year. Whatever uniform he's donning in 2019, Harper will remain the face of MLB and a first-round draft pick in fantasy.
