2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds turned down two long-term deals with the team before the 2021 season, according to a source. Reynolds finished 11th in National League MVP voting last year and was 16th in fWAR (5.5) last season. The 27-year-old bet on himself and made the right decision. The Pirates and Reynolds have yet to re-connect on contract negotiations, but that could happen this spring now that MLB's lockout has been lifted. The Miami Marlins are a team that has already shown interest in Reynolds if he doesn't get extended by the Pirates. Reynolds has become one of the best young hitters in the game since entering the league in 2019. He was a first-time All-Star in 2021 when he hit .302/.390/.522 with 24 home runs, 90 RBI, five steals and a league-high eight triples in 646 plate appearances over 159 games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
