9 months agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy is not naming a specific closer with the 2024 season approaching, saying "there is no pecking order" between right-hander Jose Leclerc and the rest of the bullpen at the start of spring training. Right now, the best bet is that Leclerc will mainly be competing with fellow right-hander David Robertson for the majority of the save chances this season. We should have a better idea of who will emerge as the leader for the closer role towards the end of spring training, but for right now, it makes Leclerc a shaky saves target in fantasy drafts. Leclerc finished strong for Texas last year, although he had only four total saves in the regular season. Robertson, meanwhile, has the most closing experience in Texas' bullpen.
