Browns Hiring Freddie Kitchens As Head Coach
6 years agoThe Cleveland Browns will hire Freddie Kitchens to be the 18th head coach in franchise history on Wednesday, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Kitchens served as the offensive coordinator for the final eight games of the season after the team fired head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Once Kitchens was running the offense, the team really took off and rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield excelled. Mayfield was 5-3, completed 68.4 percent of his passes and had 19 touchdowns, eight interceptions and five sacks after Kitchens took over. The Kitchens hire is good news for everyone involved in Cleveland's offense for 2019 and beyond.
