Broncos Staying The Course With Vance Joseph
6 years agoDenver Broncos general manager John Elway isn't ready to fire head coach Vance Joseph and told reporters last week he'd seen enough "good things" during the first half of the season to remain confident. “At this point, we’re going to stay the course,” Elway said during his weekly appearance on Orange & Blue 760, a Broncos broadcast partner. “I’m much more encouraged this year than last year because guys are still playing hard and (we) are in the games.” Denver lost to the Texans in Week 9 to fall to 3-6 on the season as they head into their bye week. They've lost four games by seven or fewer points, tied with the Eagles for second most in the NFL behind the Giants. The Broncos will likely need to be better in the second half of the season for Joseph to retain his job heading into the offseason, though. It'll be tougher now that Demaryius Thomas is no longer with the team.
