Broncos Offense More Suited To Melvin Gordon's Strengths?
5 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III, who had 6,113 scrimmage yards and three seasons with 12-plus touchdowns in five seasons with the Chargers, said that the LA offense was holding him back and "didn't play out to my strengths." "But I feel like Denver kinda runs my style of football, and I think it's a great fit." The Chargers want to feature more wide-zone run plays and play-action, while the Broncos use of inside-zone runs play better to Gordon's skill of reading the line and hitting the holes. However, Gordon's fantasy ceiling will be limited by the presence of Philip Lindsay. But the Broncos signed Gordon in free agency to use him as their 1A to Lindsay's 1B. Draft the former Charger as an RB2 with RB1 upside if he sees around 15 or more touches per game.
