Brian Anderson To Be Starter At Third
6 years agoMiami Marlins third baseman Brian Anderson is set to serve as the team's starting third baseman in 2019, according to manager Don Mattingly. Anderson was a bright spot last season and played 91 games in right field and 71 games at the hot corner, hitting .273 with 11 home runs and 65 RBI to finish fourth in National League Rookie of the Year voting. It means veteran Martin Prado will back up Anderson and serve as a utility infielder. Anderson will turn 26 in May and is one to watch as he develops, but playing third base for one of the worst teams in baseball in a bad hitting environment won't give him much fantasy intrigue in mixed leagues in 2019.
