Brian Anderson Doesn't Need Surgery
5 years agoMiami Marlins third baseman Brian Anderson (finger) will miss the rest of the season but doesn't need surgery on the fractured pinkie finger on his left hand. It's good news and means that Anderson will have plenty of time to be ready for spring training next year. The 26-year-old held his own on a bad Marlins team in 2019, hitting .261/.342/.468 with 20 home runs, 57 runs, 66 RBI and five stolen bases in 459 at-bats. If Miami's offense improves in 2020, Anderson could be a decent fallback corner infield option in deeper mixed leagues. The Fish have used both Starlin Castro and Neil Walker at the hot corner since Anderson's season-ending injury.
