Brewers May Be Willing To Move Anyone On Their Roster
1 year agoThe Milwaukee Brewers are open to moving virtually any player on their roster this offseason, according to industry sources briefed on the Brewers' discussions but not authorized to speak publicly. The process effectively began when they sent outfielder Mark Canha to the Detroit Tigers for a pitching prospect. A continued teardown of the roster would not be without logic and might even be the proper course of action. Right-handers Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) are under club control for only one more season, with closer Devin Williams under control for two more. Woodruff might not even be offered a contract since he'll be out for most, if not all, of 2024. Shortstop Willy Adames is another potential free agent and obvious trade candidate. Milwaukee could even entertain trading outfielder Christian Yelich, but he's under contract for five more years and $130 million and has a full no-trade clause.
