Brewers Hoping Kolten Wong's Injury Isn't Serious
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell said the hope is that second baseman Kolten Wong's (calf) issue is just a cramp. Wong will be re-evaluated on Sunday but is unlikely to play. It doesn't sound like his injury is at that serious, but we should know more on Sunday. It should be noted that the 30-year-old has dealt with calf issues before, so fantasy managers should be mildly concerned. Be prepared to be without him for at least a few days. Wong is having a solid season in Milwaukee in his first year, hitting .294 with seven home runs, 30 runs scored, 20 RBI and six stolen bases after going 3-for-4 on Saturday. The good news is that the Brewers have options at the keystone if Wong misses more time than expected. Daniel Robertson, Jace Peterson and even Keston Hiura could see time for however long Wong is out.
