Brett Martin Tests Positive For COVID-19
4 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Brett Martin has tested positive for COVID-19 and has some "mild" symptoms. Martin is a diabetic, so it is a delicate situation, and he's at risk for complications. Heading into the season, Martin was expected to serve in a setup role alongside Rafael Montero and Joely Rodriguez ahead of closer Jose Leclerc, but he could now consider sitting out in 2020 because he's a high-risk individual. The 25-year-old left-hander made his MLB debut in 2019 and had a 4.76 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 62 strikeouts in 51 games (two starts) over 62 1/3 innings. Martin won't carry much fantasy appeal if he decides to play in 2020.
